Andrea Bagnall Degos has been the Communications Director for the Rhode Island Department of Health since 2009, where she spearheaded the creation of the Department's Center for Public Health Communication, a team providing cross-cutting web, social media, content development, customer service, and media relations support for the Department. Prior to this role, she served as the Department's Public Information Officer and spokesperson after leading Community and Family Health Communications for the Department. Before coming to RIDOH in 1999, she worked on a number of international health projects with the International Union for Health Promotion and Education and the World Health Organization. With a Master's degree in public health and a career spanning over 25 years in the field, her focus has largely been on maternal and child health, social marketing campaigns, and the development of targeted communication materials for a variety of public health stakeholders.
