Renewal and Recertification

Certified Communicators in Public Health will pay an annual renewal fee of $50 and pursue professional development to maintain their certification. Certified Communicators in Public Health must be recertified every five years. Certified Communicators in Public Health must be current on annual renewal fees and accrue a total of 75 Professional Development points to be recertified. The CCPH credential must be recertified every five years. Are You Certifiable

HOW TO KNOW IF YOU ARE "CERTIFIABLE"   You should examine whether and how well EACH of the core competencies and skills in the Job Analysis aligns with your professional proficiencies. Candidates must pass each Job Analysis area and receive a cumulative score of 90 out of a possible 120 points to be certified.Make an honest evaluation of your degree of expertise. (See below: 1-2 might qualify you for "expertise." 3-4 might qualify as "working knowledge." CCPH offers peer recognition for professional communicators whose job is to develop, shape, spread and/or understand the impact of a public health message. A public health communicator in government, academia, industry or the not-for-profit sector who has a four year degree in any discipline and two years of practical experience, or who has had six years' experience as a public health communicator without a degree is eligible to apply for CCPH assessment.
