HOW TO KNOW IF YOU ARE "CERTIFIABLE"
 
You should examine whether and how well EACH of the core competencies and skills in the Job Analysis aligns with your professional proficiencies. Candidates must pass each Job Analysis area and receive a cumulative score of 90 out of a possible 120 points to be certified.
Make an honest evaluation of your degree of expertise. (See below: 1-2 might qualify you for "expertise." 3-4 might qualify as "working knowledge." You will be asked to select two Job Analysis areas in which you claim expertise, and in all other areas you will show your working knowledge. In core competences and the expertise areas, you must receive a score of 8 or higher; working knowledge areas require a score of 5 or higher. If you believe number 5 describes your experience in ANY of the Job Analysis areas, you are unlikely to be certified.)
  1. I am considered an expert in performing this task. I have supervised performance of this task or am normally the person who is consulted by other workers to assist them in doing this task because of my expertise.
  2. I have performed this task as a regular part of a job. I have performed it independently and normally without review by a supervisor or senior employee.
  3. I have performed this task on the job. My work on this task was monitored closely by a supervisor or senior employee to ensure compliance with proper procedures.
  4. I have had education or training in performing the task, but have not yet performed it on the job.
  5. I have not had education, training or experience in performing this task.
