New CSHE Bulletin: Racism as a Public Health Crisis
The APHA announces a new CSHE Bulletin as a platform for the Center for School, Health and Education and partners to explore issues at the intersection of health, education and equity. In its first issue, the Bulletin looks at racism as a public health crisis in schools with an emphasis on the policies — and underlying assumptions — that work to uphold it. Over the last two years, several school districts have leveraged declarations of racism as a public health crisis — impacting students, families, teachers and the broader community — to formally recognize disparities and take direct action in response.
