Washing Produce Doesn’t Remove Pesticides, Study Finds

A recent study published in American Chemical Society’s journal Nano Letters reveals that washing fruits and vegetables is largely ineffective at removing pesticide residues, highlighting a growing concern in food safety. Researchers found that pesticides can penetrate the fruit's peel and remain within the pulp, making washing insufficient for eliminating these toxic chemicals.

The study suggests peeling fruits can significantly reduce pesticide levels. This research adds to ongoing discussions about the health risks associated with pesticide residues in our diet. Read more from the Guardian U.S. here.
