Biden-Harris Administration Announces Increase Funding Opportunities Enhancing Women’s Behavioral Health

The Biden-Harris Administration has announced $27.5 million in funding to enhance women’s behavioral health services nationwide. Administered by SAMHSA, this funding supports the unique mental health and substance use treatment needs of women. It includes $15 million for community-based maternal behavioral health services to improve access to culturally relevant, evidence-based treatment for pregnant and postpartum women.

Additionally, nearly $1 million was awarded for residential treatment programs for pregnant and postpartum women. These initiatives are part of broader efforts to tackle mental health and overdose crises, aligning with the President’s Unity Agenda and other federal health strategies. Read more from HHS here.
