National Preparedness Month Toolkits

September is National Preparedness Month (NPM). The Office of Readiness and Response at CDC has taken a new approach to NPM this year, not focusing on geography, but rather on providing a framework for underserved communities to address local preparedness problems, through a social determinants of health lens.

Hurricane preparedness, the origin of the commemorative month, remains important but this novel CDC Discussion Guide series helps motivate “whole community” dialogue around multiple preparedness topics to help address local needs.
