CPSTF-Recommended Interventions to Improve Health and Prevent Disease

A new page on the Community Guide website features Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF) recommendations that could help public health practitioners and decision makers address public health issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts. These issues include declines in well-child visits and recommended vaccinations, decreases in cancer screening, negative effects on children’s mental health, and increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19 among people with obesity. CPSTF-recommended intervention approaches have been used to improve health and safety in communities and other settings such as businesses, military installations, healthcare systems, schools, worksites, faith-based organizations, and public health departments.
