Can Kids Get the Flu Vaccine and COVID-19 Vaccine at the Same Time?
Is it safe for kids to get COVID-19 and flu shots at the same appointment? Health experts say it is fine for kids to get both vaccines in one visit as there have been no problems created by interactions between the two vaccines. Both vaccines received approvals from the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Adults seeking the flu shot and the COVID-19 vaccine can also get them during the same visit at their doctor's office or pharmacy. That applies for a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, a second dose, or a booster shot. According to the CDC, “possible side effects are generally similar whether vaccines are given alone or with other vaccines.”
