Daylight savings – coming up on November 3 – can have both positive and negative effects on health, according to medical experts. The one-hour loss of sleep during the transition can impair cognitive function, lower mood, and increase the risk of accidents and cardiovascular issues.
However, daylight savings offers health benefits, such as increased sunlight exposure, which boosts vitamin D production, improves mood, and alleviates symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
