COVID-19 Data Review: Update on COVID-19–Related Mortality

The CDC released a new COVID-19 data review last week that examines recent and overall trends in COVID-19 related mortality among adults in the U.S. Key findings detail that deaths from COVID-19 have substantially decreased in the U.S. in recent months. However, thousands of COVID-19-related deaths are reported in the U.S. every week. The people most at risk for serious illness continue to be older adults, people with underlying medical conditions, people with disabilities, and people who are not vaccinated against COVID-19. Use of outpatient treatment with antiviral medications, like Paxlovid, has increased. The COVID-19 data review is now available and can be shared with your colleagues and other interested parties.
