Planning for the 2010 NPHIC Annual Conference in San Diego is in high gear, and this year’s meeting is shaping up to be like no other!

As you know, we are celebrating NPHIC’s 20th Anniversary this year. NPHIC has grown to nearly 400 members since our inception, including local, state and territorial health department communications specialists as well as communications partners from a variety of federal health agencies, nonprofit organizations and professional health services groups. As part of our celebration, we want to showcase how much our members and our organization have done in the past two decades to champion the idea of making public health public.

We also are taking this opportunity to revitalize our annual conference by creating an agenda of truly interactive, skill-building programs and sessions. Conference attendees will gain tangible skills and knowledge that will help them do their jobs better when they return home. We will share information with you about specific sessions and topics as details are finalized.

Please note that the sessions will be smaller and more collaborative than in previous years, so the overall size of the conference will be limited. Don’t miss this opportunity you’ll want to register early!

Of course, we’ll also spend some time enjoying our fabulous host city, San Diego, from our base at The Westin in the historic and vibrant Gaslamp Quarter. The area features shopping, restaurants, entertainment and cultural highlights – you can explore on your own or join us for one of our planned group outings.

Don’t miss this extraordinary chance to help us celebrate the Power of 20 years of NPHIC and learn from some of the most talented public health communicators and partners in the country.

I look forward to seeing you in October!

Sincerely,
Leslea Bennett-Webb
